Daemon rarely went to church growing up, but at the age of 15 realized he really needed to give his life to God and at a Vacation Bible School he did just that. With a family history of preachers and singers, along with a praying grandmother and aunt, Daemon’s calling as a singer was not totally unexpected.
Like Daemon, Kim went to church with her cousins, or grandmother, but at the age of 16 started attending a local church and accepted Christ into her heart.
Daemon and Kim attended Eastern Greene Schools. Both having an interest in music participated in choir and dramas throughout their high school career. It wasn’t until the Spring of 1981, their senior year in high school, that they began dating. Two years later at the age of nineteen they married (May 14, 1983) and started their family in Greene County. Four years later their first daughter, Kendra, was born. Three years later, Skylar, another daughter was born. Believing that their family was complete, Daemon and Kim were surprised by the birth of their son, Keller, in 1996.
Daemon and Kim have been at Crossroads church since 1994.
They have sung in choirs, quartets, trios, duets and as soloists since before they were married. Daemon traveled with CrossRoads Quartet in the tri-state area for ten years. Kim traveled locally with Touch of Heart for several years. God blessed both of them with many awards (i.e. Quartet of the Year and Trio of the Year by the Indiana Gospel Music Association) before Daemon accepted the position of Worship Pastor for Crossroads in 2001.
While Daemon is in charge of everything music related, Kim is a true helper in every sense. She sings on the praise team and choir, heads up Wednesday night dinners, and manages the website, facebook, and projection system at Crossroads.
With a humble spirit Daemon leads the congregation into the presence of God through music, prayer and testimony. His heart’s desire is to see souls saved, worship and exalt God, encourage people to grow closer to Him, and to lead by example.
